Leadership in Pastoral Ministry

West Richmond Friends (WRF), founded in 1909, is a Quaker Meeting in a time of transition and opportunity. We welcome applications from candidates for a central position in pastoral ministry, to anchor a team that will provide the ministry services described below. The position may begin in late summer or fall, 2025, with some flexibility about starting date. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. We will review applications as they are received, and we promise prompt acknowledgement of each application. Applicants are welcomed to submit a portion of a recorded prepared worship message (sermon), if possible. This may be required later in the process.

We seek applicants with enthusiasm for pastoral ministry among Friends. Vision and creative energy in meeting our needs and challenges will be important assets, along with skills and a caring heart for pastoral care. Applications must come from those who are Quaker, or who have significant knowledge of and experience with Quaker faith and practice.

A Coordinating Pastoral Minister position is intended to be full-time. However, we remain open to flexibility about time commitment based on an applicant’s availability, skills, and interests. Compensation will be based on qualifications and years of experience in pastoral ministry and/or related work. The attractive compensation package may include salary, housing allowance, retirement, health insurance, paid time off, and professional development stipend. The successful applicant will serve as a part of a staff ministry team and will participate centrally in building the balance of the team.
